The harbour at Borth-y-Gest

Borth-y-Gest is a harbour side village situated on the side of the Glaslyn estuary, and however that may sound, there are some very pretty coves along the side of the estuary towards Morfa Bychan and Black Rock Sands that you can walk to from Borth-y-Gest - access isn't too good though and the village can get congested as the car park isn't massive. The village has toilets, a small shop and cafe which overlooks the estuary to the mountains beyond.

The harbour itself is quite muddy lower down, however the coves along the estuary are of good sand, especially towards the high tide mark. Care should be taken with the tides along the estuary as they can quickly turn and sand bars quickly disappear.
